Can recommend for a holiday

Clean room, comfortable bed, with friendly efficient staff making our stay enjoyable and the excellent food we had for breakfast and dinner presented beautifully.

Had a lovely dinner downstairs, the food was fresh and delicious, my steak and ale pie was hearty and the dessert was a real winner. Staff were friendly too, made us feel right at home right from the start.

It wasn’t exactly budget-friendly, but for what we got, it was still reasonable.

Amazing Food and Beautiful Setting

We had a wonderful stay for one night! The food was a highlight, especially the double cooked chips and the amazing rump steak. The atmosphere was charming, with a lovely garden and beautiful views of the horses nearby. I also appreciated the modern amenities in our cozy Standard Double Room. One small area for improvement would be the wifi connection, which was a bit slow at times.

The stay was highlighted by outstanding service from energetic staff, and the food was exceptional, especially the double cooked chips and the best rump steak I've ever had. The clean and beautifully decorated room offered modern comforts while retaining a traditional pub feel. Enjoying breakfast on the lovely terrace overlooking the lake was a delightful start to the day.

perfect base for exploring horse centre and peaceful gardens

My stay was delightful, with superb service and a lovely bedroom, all within a stone's throw of the cotebrook shire horse centre, and beautiful abbeywood gardens just a quick drive away. perfect for a weekend stroll as a solo traveler like me.

The decor here is absolutely stunning, and I loved enjoying a drink in the beer garden while watching the ducks and ponies. It's a perfect spot for relaxing with its charming outdoor seating and lovely views of the surroundings. Just a small note, the shower tray could use a little more grip, but overall, it was a fantastic experience! 🌷

Awesome cozy stay!

We popped in for a night and loved it! The staff were super friendly and the food was delish—had the fish and chips, best I've ever had! Loved the rustic decor and the nice outdoor seating by the lake. Just wished the WiFi was a bit better, but overall, it was a fab spot.

this was my first stay in tarporley since a lovely visit last year. the atmosphere at the pub was warm and welcoming, exceeding all expectations for our family holiday. comfy rooms and delicious food made it an unforgettable experience.

The Standard Twin Room was really cozy and clean, which was nice. The decor was stylish and kept that traditional pub vibe. But, the TV didn’t work, and they didn’t fix it during our stay, which was a letdown. Didn’t get the bathroom cleaned after the first night either. it was a lovely place.
